Adventure Contract Spell

What you’ll need:

  • Piece of paper
  • Pen or ink with writing nib
  • Solar / sun water (see notes)
  • Calendula for cheerfulness and energy
  • Rosemary for health, quick thinking, making memories and friends
  • Cinnamon for trade, money, and success
  • Garlic for protection while traveling
  • Pick whichever of these you’ll need: All-spice for determination, Borage for courage, Mugwort to avoid weariness during travel, Eyebright to see opportunities, Snapdragon to protect against scams and theft
  • Any of the following: Mullein, Comfrey, Apple blossoms, Nettle, Cannabis, Thyme, Rose, Basil, Clover, Cinquefoil, Peppermint, Rue (optional)
  • Strainer
  • Baking sheet pan
  • Drying rack (optional) (see notes)

Gather the herbs you want to use and steep them in solar water for at least 15 minutes. You only need about 3 ounces (1/3 cup) of solar water. When steeped and cool, strain the tisane.

Place your piece of paper on a baking sheet pan. Pour the tisane over your piece of paper until the paper is soaked through. Then, carefully put the piece of paper on a drying rack or somewhere it can dry. It may take a day to fully dry.

While the paper is drying, sit down and write out on scrap paper or on the computer the kind of adventure you want to have. This is your chance to get the wording of the written spell as perfect as you can.

The adventure can be anything. It could be a going to a retreat, school trip, museum, road trip, or flying to a new city for vacation or visit a friend. It could be smaller, such as going to a new bar, dance club, or even a book club. Try and phrase it like it’s a job description, contract, advertisement, or an even invitation. Make sure to add any specifications you want, like expenses paid, it harms none, or something similar. At the end of the paper, write “I agree to this contract.” and draw a line for you to sign your name on later. 

Once the paper is dry and you’re happy with your wording, copy the written spell onto your dyed paper.

Now, sign your name on the blank line you made earlier. You may use your real name or a magical one. The choice is yours. 

Notes:

  • Solar water or sun water is water that has absorbed sunshine. Set a clear jar of water out in the bright sunlight for at least an hour.
  • Remember, the more constraints and restrictions you add to a spell, the less chances it’ll work. You can write “all expenses paid”, but that’s less likely then “the trip will cost less than $300”. How many free trips are there? That being said, it does happen! I’ve used this spell with the simple addition of “as cheaply as possible” and visited a city to do a favor for someone with my only expenses being a coffee run for myself.
  • You can add any herbs that make sense for your purposes.
  • You can use a magical ink to copy the written spell over or sign your name

“I Want to Go There” Spell

Ever want to do a bit of traveling, but you’re not sure how you’ll pull it off? Maybe finances aren’t great or you aren’t sure how you’d like to travel there. This spell is to encourage travel, through whatever means necessary.

It’s highly recommended to combine this spell with luck and money spells.

What you’ll need:

  • A computer or phone capable of pulling up google maps or some other mapping app. Alternatively, a paper map can be used.
  • A pencil poppet, with your name written on it.

First, create a poppet pencil. Get any regular pencil and use a pen or marker to write your name on it. You can add features to further represent yourself on the pencil as well.

Pull up the map with your current location. Now map the directions to your new destination. (It can be automatically routed.) Once you’re sure of where you’re going, zoom in and use your poppet pencil to follow the roads and pathways to your destination, walking the pencil along the screen like you might have walked a toy across a table as a child.

It may take a long time, depending on your destination. You can speed it up by zooming out a bit, but the more energy and time you put into the spell, the better it will work.

You may wish to make up a chant while you’re doing this. I might hum a well-known tune from that location or add in verbal money and luck spells while I’m at it. It depends on the destination. You can also use this verse:

"Here I am and gone I wish to be
Over the hills, valleys, rivers, and seas
I journey to [destination]
How I get there doesn't matter,
So long as I get started."

When completed, close down the maps and wait for the stars to align so you can go on the trip. Remember, this may not be the perfect scenario. You may be able to afford tickets to go there, for example, but maybe not to pay for a hotel. Plan accordingly.

When you do go, take your pencil poppet with you. You may be able to use it in additional low-key spells while on your travels to help yourself along.

“Go the Fuck Away” Spell

This isn’t the kind of spell you’d put on someone whom you hate, but maybe someone who’s toxic to you and really just needs to fuck off somewhere else for a while.

What you’ll need:

  • Computer or phone capable of pulling up MapCrunch and Google Maps.
  • A poppet pencil

Create a poppet pencil. Write the name of your target on one side and draw your target’s face and defining aspects on the pencil. If they play basketball, draw a basket ball, for example. Or if they are never seen without their hat, draw their hat.

Load up MapCrunch. Yes, we’re going to find the airport. (Anyone remember that? No? Oh, well) This will give you a random destination to send your target. Not what you’re looking for? Randomize it again. I usually don’t care where my target goes so long as it’s nowhere near me.

You can also pick a place you want to send them. This can be fun and creative. If you want someone to go far away and they hate cold weather, send them somewhere cold. Or maybe you just want them to leave the country. Whatever the reason, pick a place.

Now, pull up where they live. I use Google maps in a different web browser tab for this. If you have their address, great, otherwise, just narrow it down to the city or region they’re from.

Map out their trip. If you’re dedicated, pick a less-than-pleasant route. Once the trip is planned out, take the poppet pencil and follow the route from their house to the destination.

While you do this, chant: 

"[Name] I see you here and I want you gone.
Take a trip, take a journey,
Take a boat, car, or plane,
I don't care,
Just get the fuck over there."

When done, take the poppet pencil to the nearest crossroads, bus terminal, airport, or train station. Leave it there, chuck it the middle finger, and walk away.

Notes:

  • The more popular the destination, the more likely the spell will work. As much fun as it would be to send them to the back roads of Russia, chances are you aren’t going to dedicate enough magic to the spell to actually get them there. Picking a major tourist destination is a better choice.
