Motivation Stone Spell

The purpose of this spell is to create a gentle push to motivate you. It’s like a like a friend reminding you to do something you promised to do. This is excellent for helping keep New Year’s resolutions, promises, or just regular motivation for tasks that you keep dropping the ball on.

Acquire any of these stones for motivation:

  • Carnelian
  • Garnet
  • Tiger’s Eye
  • Black Onyx
  • Labradorite
  • Natural Citrine
  • Red Jasper

Get one of these stones and ensure that you connect well to the stone. This stone doesn’t have to be a polished stone – it can be a piece of jewelry, beads, or anything else.

Sit and hold the stone, breathing deeply and evenly while allowing your energy to flow into the stone and the stone’s energy to flow into you.

If you can’t feel the energy moving, that’s okay. Just keep holding the stone and breathing even, calm breaths.

While you do this, think about what you want to motivate. Visualize or speak aloud or think clearly in your head what your want to motivate and what that person or object looks once it has been motivated successfully.

Here’s some examples:

Regular exercise routine – Imagine yourself regularly exercising while looking the way you wish to look. Imagine yourself doing an exercise that you currently consider difficult with ease. Picture yourself months down the road, still exercising and enjoying it.

Doing schoolwork – Imagine yourself enjoying the schoolwork you’re doing, being interested in what you’re learning. Imagine getting the grades you want. Imagine your friends, classmates, and loved ones being impressed by your knowledge. You may eve imagine asking for tutoring or getting rewarded for good grades.

Cleaning the house – Imagine your home as you dream it could be. Maybe you have different furniture or live in a different place. I bet it’s clean though. Focus on the details – the counters are likely clear, the floor shine from being washed, and so forth. Focus on how much you would like that.

Take some time to really detail what you want to motivate in yourself. If your thoughts wander, don’t worry. Just bring your thoughts back to the stone and what you’re trying to motivate in yourself.

When you’ve got the imagine very clear, say the following,

“With the power I grant to you, inspire and motivate me to succeed.

Push me forward to my goals, dreams, and desires.

With the power you grant me, I am motivated to achieve my goals, dreams, and desires.

The power flows through you into me.

I am motivated to do all I need to do.”

Keep the stone with you, near your bed, or in the bathroom where you see it first thing in the morning. Or you can keep it with whatever stuff you bring with you to do what you need motivation for (gym bag, school bag, etc).

Recharge the stone on the full moon by sitting with it in your hands.

Best Face Forward Glamour Spell

Sometimes, you just need to present a very specific aspect of yourself (your face) and let the other parts of yourself slip into shadow for a little while. This works well making excellent first impressions, especially during presentations, job interviews, etc.

This isn’t a confidence spell, although it may seem like one. It’s a bit of a mood boosting or uplifting spell. It could even be used for self-love and to support mental health. It was originally intended, however, to be more of a “you don’t see the things you would think of as flaws” spell. It’s not a deception, because you’re not hiding aspects of yourself. They’re just not paying as much attention to what they consider a flaw or undesireable trait.

Here’s how you do it:

Pick a moment that’s as close to the start of the event you’re doing the glamour for. You should be ready to go or nearly ready.

Take a deep breath and even your breathing so you’re taking slow, deep breaths that are comfortable for you. This helps focus and boosts concentration while casting the glamour.

Now, think of a time limit. This should be something like, “For the duration of this meeting, I am…”, Until work today is done”, or “Until sunset, I am…” This time limit is intended to let you control when this glamour ends. This means you end up using your work persona when you’re trying to help your kids with your homework, getting cozy with your significant other, or trying to relax with your pets.

Think of what you want to display. For a job interview, you might have your best “customer face” or display confidence, intelligence, and success. For a presentation, you might want to appear competent and as an expert. You need to have a clear idea on what you want to happen, but try and make it as simple as possible. The more complicated a glamour is, the more likely it is to find cracks in it.

I tend to use verbal phrases to really nail the glamour. For example, if I was going to do a major presentation, I’d use “Until I return home, I am eloquent, competent, successful, and skilled. I am an expert and you see me as someone to learn from and listen to.” I’d repeat what I considered the most important aspects, probably “I am a expert you want to listen to.” I’d repeat it several times, usually seven or more.

Now take a few moments to gather your energy around you. If you’re skilled at energy manipulation, you’ll want to surround yourself and flare out your aura. If that isn’t your jam, then imagine yourself surrounded entirely by the glamour. If neither of these work for you, you can just repeat the glamour description over and over again as a chant in your head or under your breath.

Isn’t this just affirmations? Not really. Yes, it’s intended to shift the mindset. It works that way when you’re casting the glamour on yourself for yourself. But glamours are intended to nudge other people into seeing you how you wish to be seen.

Can this spell fail? Sure. If someone’s got a good resistance to this sort of magic, yes. Animals don’t tend to fall for glamours too easily, so it’s my belief that people with heightened senses will instinctually fight against a glamour. (Similarly, there are some people who are particularly susceptible to glamours.) Of course, spirits, fae, and magical practitioners are all perfectly capable of sensing or seeing through glamours.

Not everyone sees glamours the same way. A trained observer will be able to spot you faster than someone who isn’t if you’re trying to be invisible. Someone that’s always looking at fashion might pick about your glamour subconsciously because they’re use to critiquing clothing. It varies.

Still, glamours are a very handy spell to have in your pocket and can be done at the drop of a hat, especially once you’ve practiced with them.

Confidence Mirror Spell

This spell is to boost confidence. It’s good for events and situations where you need to be a little more confident, such as job interviews, dates, and so on.

What you’ll need:

  • Mirror
  • Water, divided
  • Sea salt
  • Rosemary
  • Roses
  • Hydrangea
  • Nasturtium
  • Two bowls
  • Dahlia
  • Paper towel or rag

In one bowl, mix half of the water with sea salt until the salt dissolves. Wash the mirror with the salt water to cleanse the mirror.

In another bowl, steep rosemary, hydrangea, roses, nasturtium, and dahlia petals in the other half of the water. Wash the mirror again with this water to enchant the mirror with confidence boosting. You can say the following chant or similar affirmations.

"I am confident
I am strong
I am blooming
I am powerful
I am unshakeable
I am confident."

When you’re ready to activate the spell, flick some water at the mirror and repeat the above chant or similar affirmations.

Notes:

  • Any “showy” flowers would work for this spell. Pick your favorites.

Magnetic Charisma

A spell to boost your charisma. It’s ideal for people that are making speeches or presentations, but it could also be excellent if you’re going for a job interview or something similar.

What you’ll need:

  • A magnetic piece of jewelry

Hold the magnetic jewelry in your hand and imagine anyone who looks at it will be drawn to you and your words like a magnet. Once you have that image cemented down, say the following,

"My words are heard
You follow my lead
You're drawn to me as if I am the sun
My charm is endless
I'm filled with cheer, charm, and grace,
Do as I suggest and say
My charisma holds you in sway."

Simply wear the jewelry when you need to be extra charismatic.

Notes:

  • Magnetic jewelry can take any form, such as a bracelet, necklace, rings, anklets, earrings, cufflinks, shoelaces, sunglasses, tie clips or tacks, etc. Magnetic ties, shoes, or other pieces of clothing would also be fine.
  • You can alternatively use magnetic therapy sport wraps or anything else magnetic that would be visible to the audience.
  • A simple refrigerator magic would work, but it should be visible to your audience.

Eloquent Charm Spell

When you need to be eloquent, charming, and fine with your speech, this spell is your helping hand.

Excellent for times where you need to make a public speech, have a job interview, important presentation, or any time where your words will make or break what happens next.

What you’ll need:

  • Indian crepe myrtle flowers (lagerstroemia indica)
  • Cream colored rose (any kind)
  • Ylang-ylang essential oil (cananga odorata)
  • Fennel
  • Cardamom
  • Sugar
  • Agate, especially blue lace or sardonyx
  • Sun water
  • Yellow paper and black marker
  • Cloth bag, preferably yellow

Gather up all of your ingredients and prep or cleanse them accordingly.

Draw in an arrow on the yellow paper. Anoint it with a drop of ylang-ylang essential oil and a drop of sun water. Let dry.

Place the flowers, herbs, sugar, agate, and the dried paper in the cloth bag. As you add each item, say,

"With you, I am charming and eloquent.
People heard my words and listen to me."

When done, hold the bag between both hands and blow into it, saying,

"My breath carries my power and words,
My meaning and intent comes across to all who hear them clearly."

Close the bag and press a kiss to the knit tying it close.

"My words are heard,
My eloquence is clear for all who can see and hear."

Carry the bag with you. Before you go out to make your speech, press the bag to your throat, breath across it and/or press a kiss to it saying,

"I am eloquent. Hear my words."

Notes:

  • You may swap in yellow jasmine flowers to replace the Indian crepe myrtle or ylang-ylang
  • If you have access to ylang-ylang flowers, use that instead of the essential oil and omit the step with the essential oil.
  • You may wish to enchant the cloth bag so it isn’t noticeable, but that’s up to you.
  • Instead of a cloth bag, you can easily swap this for a locket necklace or spell bottle.

Glimmering Moon Beauty Spell

This is a simple beauty spell, channeling the moon as your source of beauty inspiration. This spell requires a whole month of set-up and dedication, then repeats once a month for as long as you’d like to use the spell.

What you’ll need:

  • A small mirror, preferably round
  • A bowl large enough to fit the mirror into
  • Full moon water
  • A full moon’s cycle

Find a place where the moonlight directly hits that spot. This may take some doing, but keep at it until you find one where you can have some privacy.

On a full moon night, dress yourself in your favorite or best outfit. The one that makes you feel the best, most beautiful, handsome, attractive, sexy, etc. Go as extreme or as simple as you’d like.

Place the mirror in the bowl then pour the full moon water. Bend so you can see your face in the mirror and the full moon above you at the same time. Now say,

"Beautiful moon
My beauty becomes like you
Glowing, glittering, shining in the dark
As you fade, my flaws fade
As you grow, my beauty grows."

Wash your face with this water. This is a good time to also bring in your own affirmations or meditations.

Repeat this same spell every night as the moon wanes, focusing on the flaws fading part. At the new moon, make sure you’re dressed as you were on the full moon and repeat the spell again. As the moon waxes, repeat the spell and focus on the beauty growing. On the full moon, repeat your outfit and the spell. This sets the spell up. You can repeat the spell on each full moon to keep it up.

Notes:

  • This spell requires a specific location that can be difficult to find.It may not be doable in your climate or location. The whole point is to channel the moon’s beauty, so try to find a good spot.
  • The spell requires the full moon cycle and an entire month’s worth of work. If this is difficult due to weather or simple time demands, then simply do the spell on the full moon, at least once during the waxing and waning, and the new moon. That should only be five times.
  • Pocket-sized mirrors and baking dish are perfect for this.
  • Save the full moon water, if possible. Make sure to check it out before casting the spell each time, in case it gets gross for some reason.
  • This spell is demanding on full moon water, so make sure that you’re stocking up on it too.

Charmed Meeting Attention Spell

This spell is intended to introduce you to someone or at least meet someone new. It can be used when you want to make a good impression or it can be used just so you meet someone during the day. It’s not a love spell, exactly, more of a “hey, pay attention to me” kind of spell.

The results may lead to a date or future friendship, but it may also mean that you have an uplifting conversation with a co-worker or you meet someone inspiring at the coffee shop. It may mean someone talks to you on the bus or your neighbor says that you look cute today. The results vary and what you get may not be what you’re looking for. Still, it’s useful if you’re feeling a bit lonely or need help breaking out of your shell.

What you’ll need:

  • Full Moon Water
  • Sunshine Water
  • Mirror
  • Scented infused waters (optional) (see notes!)

Pour the sunshine and full moon water together in a bowl. Add the scented liquid, if you’re using one.

With your pointer finger, make an infinity sign (sideways 8), stirring the water. Envision or speak your intentions of meeting someone and making a great impression. Channel your favorite flirting style or picture that movie-perfect chance meeting.

As you do this, smile and look at yourself in the mirror. Touch the water to your lips and say,

My smile charms those who see it
My voice draws them closer to me
My words entice them to my side
Like the sun and moon shine
So will I.

Now dab the water behind your ears, on your eyelids, middle of your forehead, underside of your jaw, and anywhere else you might like someone to look at. An example would be along your collarbone, joints of your wrist, or anywhere else. Repeat the above verse as you go.

The spell works passively, but when you wish to invoke the spell specifically, catch your reflection in something and smile. You might be just smiling to yourself, but the spell should be working double time now.

Notes:

  • Sunshine water is simple water left to sit in pure sunlight for a while, just like full moon water is water left to soak in full moonlight.
  • Infused scented water can be a difficult thing. Rose water or lavender water are ideal here, but they can be strong. You can make your own, if you prefer.
  • You can also use essential oils (but make sure you’re using a carrier oil too!) Perfume or cologne could also be subbed in, but make sure that you don’t get these things in your mouth.

A Charm Spell to Gain Attention

A simple but effective charm to gain attention. This can be used when you want to be flattered, charm someone at a bar or club, show well at an audition or interview, or stand out in a crowd.

I wouldn’t particularly consider this a kind spell. It gains attention, but it doesn’t necessarily gain good attention. You may gain the attention of someone you’d rather not deal with. You may get yelled at by your parents instead of spend time with them. It gives you attention – it doesn’t say what kind of attention. It’s up to you to use the attention you gain to your advantage.

That being said, it’s good when you want to stand out while at the club, auditions, or interviews.

Ingredients:

  • Yellow or red candle
  • Floral fabric
  • Clover
  • Apple or apple blossom
  • Thyme
  • Jasmine
  • Oak leaf or acorn
  • Almond or almond blossom
  • Cinnamon
  • Nutmeg
  • St. John’s wort
  • Eyebright
  • Rosemary
  • Hydrangea
  • Rose
  • Peony
  • Sugar
  • Rose quartz
  • Carnelian
  • Quartz crystal
  • Citrine
  • Bloodstone
  • Goldstone
  • Fire agate
  • Aventurine
  • Garnet
  • Magnet or magnetic sand

Make a charm bag that closes using the fabric. It can be as large or small as you’d like. A good sized charm bag for this specific charm should fit in the palm of your hand.

Carve into the candle “I shine. I glow. I am like fire.” Use a knife, toothpick, or even just write it with a sharpie.

Gather together at least seven ingredients from the list (excluding the candle and fabric) and spread them before the candle.

Light the candle and say the following:

I shine and glow

I rise above others

Others will see and know me

I am like fire

I draw people like moths to a flame

Blow out the candle. Fill the charm bag with your chosen items and carry it with you when you wish to gain attention.

Notes:

  • Yellow is a good color choice for this charm. Yellow roses, yellow peonies, yellow fabric, antiqued hydrangeas, and so on. Anything that’s yellow or gold works well.
  • Sewing’s the best option for creating the fabric bag, as you can using knot magic in your stitches as a boost. But you can glue, staple, or create the charm bag any way you’d like.
  • You can repeat the spell as often as you like, reusing the candle and stone ingredients again. You’ll need new dried herb though.

New Year Braid Spell

There’s so many spells you can do at the beginning of a new year. So many. Cleansing, healing, protection, wish granting, prosperity, so on, and so on. This spell starts during the new year and goes all year long.

The purpose of this spell is simple. You’re affirming or wishing for something positive or good to happen and letting go of the unwanted things each and every month. It’s a knot spell and a pretty basic one at that, but the power of this spell, the real strength of it, happens at the end of the year.

Ingredients:

  • Three strands of thread or string, any color (see notes)
  • A place to leave the braids all year long, undisturbed
  • A fire with an appropriate fire-proof /burning vessel

At the beginning of the year, start this spell. Then do the spell at the end of each month. At the end of the year, you should have 13 separate braids.

First cut three equal pieces of string or thread. As said, it can be any color, but you should probably aim for the length of each piece of string to be at least from your wrist to your elbow in length. It will mean more braiding, but it helps at the end of the year part of this spell to have the extra length.

Now, pick one string and name it the things you’d like to see continue or grow in your life. Pick another strand and name is something you’d like to let go of or release from your life. The last string should be a wish you’d like to see happen. Braid these three strands together, repeating the names of each string as you cross them.

Example: The first string is to grow your wealth, the second string is to release debts, and the third string is to save enough to visit a relative during the year. Cross the grow your wealth string over the releasing debts string, saying each of these as you cross them. Then cross the saving money string over the new middle string, the grow your wealth string. Repeat this pattern, saying each as you move the string.

When done, knot the top and bottom of the braid, if you haven’t already done so, and put the braid somewhere safe.

Do this near the end of each month, including January. (So you’ll be making two for January, and one for each month of the rest of the year). Each month, start a new braid and you can use the same string names or new ones. (So each braid can have different spells on it). Save each braid in the same spot.

At the end of the year, after you make the final braid of December, braid all of the braids together. You can look up a thirteen strand braid, if you like, but it’s complicated. You want to avoid adding your frustrating to the spell while you’re casting it, so I recommend skip the fancy braid. Instead, you can braid three months together and then braid those groups together until you have one braid. Or you can simply separate the braids into three groups and braid them all together. It’s up to you, just pick something that’s easy enough for you to do.

As you braid the final large braid, you may wish to repeat the wishes and things you’d like to grow. You could even add new things to that final final, if you like.

Once the braid is done, you may not be able to knot the ends of it. That’s OK. Instead, you can take new pieces of string and tie the top and bottom off instead.

Now get your fire going and toss the braid into the flame and say,

“What I wish to grow, will continue to grow.

What I wish to fade, will burn to ash.

What I wish for, this fire will create it true.”

The wishes and things you’d like to grow will be passed on and the things you’ve let go will disperse.

Notes:

  • You can choose any color you’d like for the string. Ideally, one string of each braid should be green (for what you’d like to grow), one should be black, gray, dark blue, or white (for what you’d like released), and one should be silver, gold, or red (for the wish), but it’s not required at all.
  • Practice your braiding before starting the spell, if you aren’t very good at it. The braid’s neatness doesn’t matter much month-to-month, but the final braid can get messy quick if you’re not a skilled hand.
  • Because there’s quite a bit of string involved during the burning part of this spell, make sure that you have a safe space to burn the braid and time to properly monitor the fire.
  • If you find that you wished for something one month and discovered you don’t want that at the end of the year, you can say that as you make the braid at the end of the year.

The Full Moon’s Invitation

Full Moon's Invitation by This Crooked Crown

This is a very adaptable spell. It’s used to increase the things you want more of in your life. So if you want love, you’ll add that component. If you want money, you add that. It’s used for what you want. Unlike the full moon or sun variations of this spell, this one can be used to invite things you do not currently possess into your life.

That being said, this can be a tricky spell to pull off in some people’s home environments. You need complete darkness on a new moon night.

Ingredients:

  • Items you want to increase in your life
  • Full Moon Water

Collect together items that represents the things you want in your life. You might have a handful of cash, a picture of a college diploma, a love letter written to a dream lover, or anything else. Think creatively and simply. If you want to travel to Aruba, put in a picture of Aruba. Don’t make things hard for yourself.

Once you have together your items, take them and place them on a table next to a window where no light will shine from outside on it. You can also leave it on the windowsill itself. Be smart about this. don’t leave a wad of cash on your windowsill and expect it to not get stolen if you live on the ground floor and leave the window open. Be as discreet as possible with your items but don’t cover them up.

Place a drop of full moon water on each item then leave them overnight. You can leave the items there until the full moon or you can take the items away immediately. You may wish to avoid spending any money used in this spell until after the full moon.

You can repeat this spell as often as you like.

Notes:

  • If you’re charging water, crystals, or anything else by the new moon’s light, do this in a separate location than this spell.
  • We avoid putting the items in a bag or container so the lack of moonlight can touch them. A good middle ground is a big glass mason jar.

Happy casting!
